The Deal by Elle Kennedy

4.0

Hannah has a crush but doesn't wanna make a move. Garrett needs tutoring and is willing to help Hannah get the man of her dreams. They both don't realize that they need each other in more ways than first seems.

The book is written in a way that, of course, makes it a chocolate 3 layer cake- devourable. Elle Kennedy COOKED with this cutesy, banter filled, sometimes dark in real world ways, hockey romance.

The banter, all though at times a little 'me man you woman', is still done so well. I found myself smiling or smirking through a good 80 to 90 percent of the book. The characters are typical college characters, artsy girl and jock guy, with seemingly nothing in common. Yet they work. They also communicate through 90% of the book.

They help each other in ways that don't seem rushed. Garrett even researches the best ways to aid Hannah through her trauma, which I found to be a nice addition to the story. The 'miscommunication' at the end isn't necessarily a true miscommunication but a white lie for reasons that seemed to be good to the character at the time.

I greatly enjoyed the read, the feels, and the little feet kicking moments that I had throughout the book. Read the trigger warnings for the book before diving in. I will be reading more from this author.
