The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

5.0

This was a fantastic book. There were parts that were a little slow, and parts that I almost couldn't follow (meaning I had to re-read them). But it was a great read. I got it as a Christmas present, and I couldn't have been more grateful. It's a classic for many reasons, and I would definitely read it again.

"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had."

"Gatsby turned out all right at the end; it is what preyed on Gatsby, what foul dust floated in the wake of his dreams that temporarily closed out my interest in the abortive sorrows and short-winded elations of men."

"All right...I'm glad it's a girl. And I hope she'll be a fool -- that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool."
