The Serpent's Fury by Kelley Armstrong

adventurous emotional tense medium-paced

4.5

Just as I complain about a lack of dragons, there they are with a killer introduction and original abilities. Slap that alongside Armstrong's amazing writing and the blatantly terrifying descriptions of harpies, it was easy to get into this book. It does read a bit like a novel of side quests though - yes they're all connected but what a way to get there. I would say that I find Rowan almost too naïve considering this is the third book in the series with betrayal being a major theme. I don't see her having a lot of character development socially though her strategic abilities are greatly improved. I'd like to think that this book can be read alone with its ample descriptions of past events, but I've read the entire series and I've loved the entire series so I'm not the best judge.
