Review: After reading Katrina hates the dead by the same author I couldn’t wait to see what Ichabod Jones: monster hunter had in store for me. Much like Katrina hates the dead it does satire the Christian faith although it could be seen as satirical to any religion that contains a chosen one. We meet Ichabod Jones who is a killer imprisoned in a mental hospital who escapes when a monster attacks the hospital. We learn through the voice in Ichabod’s head that he is the chosen one, an instrument of God and he is the only one that can defeat the monster. Unlike Katrina Ichabod is a bit of scaredy cat and has many flaws despite the voice’s “training” before he was captured.
Overall, I liked this more than Katrina hates the dead as it sparks questions like is it all in Ichabod’s head or is it real? Again, please take some caution when reading for those who follow a religion as it could be seen as offensive.
