Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score
4.0

I've had this book on my tbr list for about a year now, but I was waiting until I had time to binge through the whole series and I'm so glad I finally got around to it. Going into it, I was a bit intimidated by the size of the book as I wanted a quick read but it wasn't too bad and it was a much faster read than I thought it would be. I loved Naomi’s character and how quick she was to step into a parental role for Way (and how great she was at it). Seeing her slowly doing things for herself and giving up some control was nice to see. It was also so nice to see Way starting to trust others and being her true self while slowly putting down that defensive act. I'm not sure how I felt about Knox - the way he treated Way as his own was heartwarming, but his relationship with Naomi had me forgetting he was supposed to be in his 40s (he acted incredibly immature for his age to the point where I kept thinking he was in his 20s). I know a lot of other reviews I read had thought this book was dragged out and could've been cut down a lot but I honestly kind of liked all the side events that happened (also loved seeing Knox, Lucian, and Nash together). Very excited to start the second book now!!
