5.0
Full disclosure: I almost gave this 4 stars because I listened to the audiobook, and the musical interludes were so obnoxious, I wanted to kick a puppy. 1. This is David fucking Sedaris. He doesn't need musical interludes. 2. He especially doesn't need musical interludes that make him sound like a Peoria vaudeville act (hi from Peoria).
I've read everything Sedaris has ever written, most of it more than once. I will continue to read everything he writes, because he's just that good. Also, even when I don't like something he's written, I still respect the effort. I also respect the author. I've seen him live three times and hope to do so again someday.
Ultimately, the musical interludes aren't Sedaris's fault. My only regret is that "Big Boy" isn't in this collection.

Graphic: Suicide
The entire book isn't about suicide, but Sedaris writes in some detail about his sister's suicide.
