Such Sharp Teeth by Rachel Harrison
3.0
I fully enjoyed listening to this as an audiobook! It was a perfect Halloween read.
I did really like Harrison’s characterization and descriptions of how trauma feels in the body. I also really enjoyed the complex relationships between Rory and the other women in her life, and the exploration of hurt, harm, forgiveness, and connection.
I think the author was a bit heavy handed with the post-trauma body/monster body/pregnancy body ties, though I did think it was an interesting premise to a certain extent.
I think overall, some of the descriptions were spooky and there was obviously some body horror but overall, as others have said, it doesn’t feel like a horror novel.
