I wanted to like this, but: 1. too many nonsense words I could never remember. Some authors are good at made up words...others no. 2. I was confused for too long without being drawn in. 3. It was internally inconsistent. This village is the only one in existence...but Vega Jane wonders why a city this size even needs a council. A city this size? It's the only one. What size is it anyway?? Different sections seemed to indicate different sizes.
I didn't intend to write that much. Clearly, I was more disappointed than I realized.
