I did enjoy this book.  I have to say, compared to the last 6 I've read, this isn't high on the list.  I do like it, there are simply other books I feel are better.

Terry Pratchett is such a genius and this story really puts that genius on display. I love the mathematical camels and they way he plays with Egyptian mythology and gods is wonderful.  His work with the pyramids was so funny.  I mean he lambasts a whole ancient religion that's gone now.  I love how he associates such random things together.  His writing is a delight.

Well, now we know all about the assassins guild, or something about them and we have been to the little river valley on the disc that is the home of the ancient pyramids.

He uses some embalmers and pyramid builders as characters and all of them just have me in stitches.  I love how he shows we do things not really knowing why, but because it's simply how it's done.  He really puts all of humanities foibles on display in his stories.  We are funny creatures.

I would love to have a wit like Terry's, what a gifted mind.  Most of us must be like simpletons to him. Who knows.

I thought this was a fun book and I did enjoy the story and the Egyptian culture he brought out.  I can't say it's my favorite book at this point.  I hear most people love Guards Guards and that one is up next.  I look forward to it next month.
