AI seeks purpose, tries to improve stubborn humans' lives. All it asks in return is cat pictures.
Merged review:
A cute short story about a benevolent AI who just wants cat pictures. An adorable reversal of the Skynet trope, it tries to help people (and develop a suitable moral code)--and not just because they're a source of cat pictures--by showing them targeted ads that'll improve their lives.
It's a time capsule of a more innocent time, when Google was still the charming "Don't be evil" corporation and Big Tech wasn't spreading misinformation and enabling right-wing extremism.
