The Lion's Daughter by Loretta Chase

I've read Lord of Scoundrels some years ago and I completely loved it, so of course I wanted to read more by Loretta Chase. Curiously, this was just my second book by her and it was also a great story.

I loved the dynamics between Esme and Varian. I was pleasantly surprised that, even though Varian was supposed to be this huge rake, he was the one who surrended almost immediately. I was astounded at how vulnerable and tender Esme made him from the beginning. Esme was also a great heroine. That girl had a lot of fire in her and I found myself chuckling and laughing with her antics. Finally, I loved the fact this book took place in Albania for a great deal of the story. It is always nice to read about places other than London.
