This book details the journey of two young teens making the treacherous journey from Guatemala to the United States after their family member is killed by the local gang. While the story isn’t true, it paints a vice picture of the realities that migrant children face. It also reminded me a lot of my time in Guatemala in college—the kids even visited some of the same places I did while on their journey. A necessary read for anyone unfamiliar with or wanting to learn more about migrant youth.
