After reading and loving Pride and Prejudice, I decided to read the rest of Austen's works. This is the fourth Austen novel I've read (Emma, Pride and Prejudice, and Persuasion before this) and sadly it probably had the least impact on me. I definitely enjoyed the story, but I didn't feel as invested in the characters or their future happiness as I did with her other works. The twists and surprise reveals were good, and Austen's writing is, as always, beautiful, but this one didn't quite have the same power that Pride and Prejudice does.
