This book was gripping from the first page - the plot expertly grapples with the intersections of sexuality, sensuality, self-image, motherhood, mental health, and religion. Enticing prose that skillfully dodges delving into fanfiction-like erotic descriptions, which could’ve so easily happened. Resolution of the main character’s mental health issues, as detailed in the book, veered simplistic — making it seem unrealistic. Otherwise, an energetic, insightful, beautiful read.
Graphic: Eating disorder
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts, Body shaming, and Self harm
