The A.B.C. Murders
by Agatha Christie
growing up, agatha christie books (more specifically their tv adaptations) were a fixture of my household. (fun bit of marni lore is i once did a school project on agatha christie’s disappearance, a story that baffled me then and bewilders me now). but this is the first time i’ve read one of her books as an adult. and she is SO obviously the goat of this genre. it’s funny to read this and think about a) the gendered context of her novels, obviously totally lost on me as a child and b) how all crime tv shows can be traced back to christie. she really did it first.
