Things We Didn't Talk about When I Was a Girl by Jeannie Vanasco

dark emotional hopeful reflective sad slow-paced

4.75

this is a very powerful book about the grieving process after a sexual assault has occurred. reflective, vulnerable, and very surprisingly hopeful. the message of the book does not dwell on the darkness of her trauma, but it instead paints a picture of the community of women around her that encourage her to tell her story. it is witty, contemplative, and so deeply honest. I loved every second of this book.
