Mimi Matthews has done it again!!! I was OBSESSED with this series opener. I loved how independent both characters were, and how they complemented each other's strengths and weaknesses as they navigated some pretty tricky politics and scheming. Gabriel fell hard and fast — and I ate up every delicious moment. This is one I could reread pretty much immediately, and I cannot wait to get to the second series installment. My only complaint: I both couldn't read fast enough, and I wanted to savor every page!! Truly, so so good.
Graphic: Misogyny, Sexism
Moderate: Death, Violence
