Such a Beautiful Story!
This book is a tearjerker. I will admit that I'm a crier—some commercials make me cry, but still. This story is very touching. It's about a little boy and his mother who habitually exchange little written notes. What a lovely practice! What a way to show your child your love and foster a love of the written word within them.
The little boy, Elijah, writes his mom notes telling her that although he's only a child, he sees everything she does for him, hears her prayers for him, feels her pain and joy, and tells her that she is beautiful like his heart. So beautiful. This is one of the most touching, engaging, and uplifting children's stories I've read in a long time. Add to that the lovely illustrations, and Ms. Thomas has herself a winning tale. If you're a parent looking for a book that uplifts and inspires children, check this out. Enjoy!
