Incredibly thought provoking. I feel like it’s very common to ask yourself the question “what would you do if you had one day left to live” and this really explored an entire spectrum of interesting answers.
On one hand, we have Rufus and Mateo, unable to spend the day with their loved ones so they find each other instead.
Then we see the impact they begin to leave behind through the lense of their loved ones, as well as strangers.
This book has been advertised to me what feels like a million times, what with friends recommending it and booktok, but it did disappoint me in some ways.
I’ll be upfront- I’m not much of a Young Adult fiction fan anymore. So keep that in mind. I probably would have absolutely adored it if I read it a few years ago.
But aside from that, I felt as though the plot definitely dragged in certain points of the book, and I almost caught myself wishing their death sooner just so something would happen.
The themes explored in this novel were incredibly interesting, nonetheless .
