The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

5.0

This book was a delight. Though more like a 4.5 star read for me, I went with 5 stars as it would push the average up closer to my ideal score ever so slightly.

I've read other Neil Gaiman books in the past and this can certainly be counted among my favorites of his works. The life of Nobody Owens is a curious story, from his origins to his upbringing to the very end. The ending nearly made me cry and I can't help but wring my hands, hoping for the best for Nobody Evans as he travels out into the world.

It's a lovely, if not a little sad, story and I would happily recommend this book to others. It's difficult to talk much about this book without giving away significant plot points, but I think this would be an appropriate reading choice for any age - though probably more so for older elementary schoolers and older. As a nearly 30 year old reading this, I can safely say it was still fun to read as an adult.
