Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey

5.0

All of the books in the series I've read so far (1-8) have become my favorite. This book (as well as the rest of them) has a powerful mixture of all the things that I enjoy:
1) Complex characters who feel like real people because they aren't perfect, they make mistakes and have weaknesses. The authors take a deep dive into their minds, allowing us to understand what's going on there, how they think and what they feel. Every character is unique, they think and speak differently, have different values and moral codes. Reading the series, you will slowly uncover their stories that will help you understand them even better.
2) An imaginative, thought-through world with complex political, economic and social relationships that aren't black and white.
3) An interesting plot that has kept me invested and wondering, allowing me to slowly discover what's going on one step at a time, together with the characters.
I also enjoyed the writing style, it's a well-written book that was a pleasure to read.
All in all, the most important things about the book were just as I like them, and I read the whole series without ever taking a break.
