This Will Be Funny Someday by Katie Henry

5.0

5 stars. Kaite Henry never fails me. I love how her books talk about serious but also very relateable topics and still be hilarious. Who doesn't like dar humor? Or laughing about your trauma? This book resonated with me so much. I connected with the main character on so many levels. Before I would read books about main characters like this, and think to myself, "How clueless could these people be to end up with shity people like that?" It's only when I have really been through a verbally abusive relationship when I started to realize how easy it is. Katie Henry makes people like me be seen.
The characters in this book were all amazing, especially Jonah. Og God I hated that character, but you can't hate him. He was blunt and said things as they were. He said the things everyone was too scared to say. You hate him only because he doesn't say that everything is going to be okay when he's right. You can hate him when he's telling the truth.
Will was adorable but still had his own complex backstory. That's what I love about Kaie Henry's characters. They all have such a unique backstory.
Mo was fine. I love her character but, for me, it was nothing new. She was such a good friend to Isabel though that's what I admired about her.
Isabel. I just- I loved her so much. She has flaws like any human being. I love the way Katie Henry didn't make Izzy all nice and everything and how everything was not her fault. Like she did some shit too. Most of the stuff was not her fault obviously. Her relationship with Alex is so very common to a lot of people. She went through all of these things with her siblings, parents, and friends. I just adore her.
Overall, this book will not be for everyone. I assume, for most people, it would be like a 3 or 4 star read to them. But for someone who felt connected to the main character. It's 5 stars.

Anyways thank you sweeties and good night
