A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
2.0
I am…underwhelmed. 2 stars bc I did blast through this, but:
1. I don’t see where the story can go on from this? I wish it was left on more of a cliffhanger truthfully bc I don’t feel the need to go onto the next book
2. I still don’t feel like I understand the full extent of the world building. I wish I knew more about the courts & why they exist the way they do, and more of the lore behind the way they function. I didn’t feel like there was much on the line bc nothing was fleshed out
3. Rlly don’t love how there’s just this invisible wall separating the faerie & human realm. I understand why they have to exist on the same plane, but there couldn’t have been a more “magical” way to separate them?? Like using the glamour on the humans so they don’t know about the faeries? Nothing seemed “high stakes” enough for me to really be into this
