These was a fun little experience of an old story with new perspectives. I honestly think I like Adena and Mak more than Pae and Kai. Their romance was a little insta-lovey, but it's a novella, so it kinda has to be. But because of that I had a hard time believing Mak's feelings or understanding why they would "trip into" each other. Also, if all this was going on in Adena's life during Powerless, but Pae knew absolutely nothing about it, it makes Pae even worse of a friend. Like she did not deserve the love and devotion of Adena, I'm sorry. So it does make me like Pae a little less now. But this story by itself was really fun and cute. Their banter had me actually laughing out loud multiple times. And Adena is a star. ☀️
