Pineapple Street by Jenny Jackson

Pineapple Street is a lighthearted read about a rich family in New York. My favourite thing about the novel was the way that the POV jumped around between the different characters and they turned out to have very different readings and perspectives on what happened and about the other characters. There were unspoken misconceptions and grudges which brought a lot of tension to the plot in a nice way. It really highlighted how we make assumptions about people and their motivations that make us draw unfounded conclusions about who they are as people.

What the novel lacked was perhaps an emotional impact or longevity, but it was still a perfectly good read that I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun read. This novel made me both smile and laugh, the latter being a rarer occasion than a book making me cry.
