A truly heart wrenching read that details the author's life and her mother's murder at the hands of her stepfather. The memoir was written with a tenderness that is so beautiful as she reflects on her life before her mother's death and after. She deals with the complicated grief and the ways in which she feels responsible for her mother's death and how her mother's death changed her. A truly great memoir.
