The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa

5.0

“No other animal in the world would try to defy the laws of nature, but humans are a very peculiar species.”
I absolutely love this book. Where do I begin?
I love Nana, never had I thought that I would enjoy reading from a cat's perspective this very much. This delightful novel is the story of a cat and his master Satoru as they try to find Nana(the cat) a new owner as he finds himself unable to take care of Nana, due to unavoidable circumstances.
Saturo and Nana share one of the purest relationships that I have come across in fiction.
The author's depiction of Japanese countryside painted nostalgic and comforting images in my mind. Nana's charm made me chuckle way too many times and if I were a cat, I'd want Saturo as my cat parent.
Through Nana's story the author has captured the most beautiful of human experiences that make life lovely, bittersweet but in the end worthwhile.
