Wow, what a moving portrayal of four lives taken and the friends and family affected by their loss that quickly was turned into a sensational true crime story. This was a very engaging read that gets into the crime and murderer but mostly paints a vibrant picture of Maddie, Kaylee, Ethan, and Xana, college students in their prime. They loved life and creating those classic college memories many of us lived ourselves, until a creepy incel criminology student took their lives (right at publishing he pleased guilty). I appreciate that the book was very respectful its portrayal of the friends/family, police, and the university (even if they all didn’t see eye-to-eye. I wish them all peace as they move forward and hope the theme of respect can be followed for victims of true crime from now on.
