Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

5.0

Tragedy porn with a point, this book did a number on my heartstrings. With the tragedy of generations compounding, and the expectations of society closing in, some characters really had no hope at happiness to begin with, and in the end even those who had lost it. Now this was partly their fault (I'm looking at you Heathcliff, you tragi-malevolent devil) but I still wish things could have turned out differently.

The ending, at least, wasn't as sad as it could have been.

I'm giving this book 5 stars, since I actually cared about everyone (except Nelly and Hindley).
