This is a delightful book that provided another comfort read in the midst of the holiday season. I loved the Sound of Music as a child and the first book I ever read from the adult section of the Felipe de Neve branch of the Los Angeles Public Library was the Story of the Trapp Family Singers, by Maria von Trapp. Maria is at the center of this book too, a historical novel that begins as her story has inspired a Broadway play with songs by Rodgers and hammerstein. The real Maria reads the script and comes to New York to confront Hammerstein and tell him to portray the family accurately. Hammerstein has his secretary meet with Maria, and she strikes up a friendship while Maria recounts the real story of the family at the heart of the sound of Music. This was an heartwarming book and i loved energy minute
