I heard that a lot of people loved this book and a lot of people hated it so why not try it out to see which side I’m on. I personally think both the 1 stars reviews and 5 star reviews make good points and it just depends on the reader. If you're interested in the book definitely try it out but also keep in mind that it's not for everyone.

My general thoughts:
- I think Miller did a good job at giving Achilles more character then how I saw him before I read this book, but I feel like a lot of the characters didn’t have the amount of depth I would want in a more relevant character.
- I will say Miller made some questionable decisions that did bother me so this book definitely wasn't a 5 star one in my eyes.
- The writing of the relationship between Achilles and Patroclus was beautiful. I have probably at least 100 tabs marking pages and quotes that I adored. And when people said it was sad I didn’t believe them, but there were quotes at the end that really hit me hard. They are what is keeping this book above 3 stars.
- I enjoy reading about Greek mythology and have recently gotten more into retellings. So I definitely plan on checking out Circe.

Not my best review but a good chunk of my thoughts on it.
