This felt more kid-friendly than the first book. Less violent. More silly and whimsical. I enjoyed that, however curious it may be for the change. The bringing to life of new creatures and all there different personalities was rather amusing. I wish the revolt had a bit more...something... to it. Jinjur ended up as a flat character for me. I also felt Tip's character started out strong, but as the party grew, he diminished a bit too much. Pumpkinhead was a fun one!
