Sunbringer by Hannah Kaner

4.0

I was really excited for this, even more so when I found it at the library.

I loved Godkiller. The bond between Kissen, Inara and Elo that slowly formed over the course of the first book was so precious to me. Since they were separated at the end of book one, I was hoping that they would find each other again quickly in the second book. Because all of them together, that's what I loved so much in the first one.

Sunbringer started out a bit slow, but the action definitely picked up in the second half. My problem with this was the fact that the main characters only come together again at the very end. And personally, I just hate that..
Also, because this is written in multi POV, you basically read three separate stories for most of the book, of course they are connected in a way, but it's still making it feel so fragmented though imo (I'm not counting Skedis POV because I found it to be kind of pointless tbh).
But that’s just a pet peeve of mine, I really dislike it when authors force their main characters apart in order to make the story more interesting, even though they could have come together again way earlier. I find it very frustrating and disruptive to read.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the story, the diverse cast of characters was great.

I do think the ending was very satisfying and nicely done. Overall, I enjoyed this book and will definitely read the next one.
