I'm not generally a fantasy reader, but this book kept me engaged. I think in audio book form it was easier for me to stay focused. Still, it felt a bit drawn out. Too much "will they won't they" in my opinion, but I understand why the author wrote it that way. 
The world is beautifully fleshed out and characters are memorable. I'll read the sequel.
