The Girl with a Clock for a Heart by Peter Swanson

Very interesting book. It was pretty hard to figure out what was going on until the very end, where everything came together nicely. A pretty good example of what happens when a man thinks more below the waist than above, and doesn't seem to learn his lesson even after many, many years.
If I were the protagonist, I would have avoided most everything that happened, since the early days of their relationship was already too strange for me. But I would have already been suspicious when a beautiful woman fell in love with me - that's something that doesn't happen out of the blue, in my life. But this guy gets punched out, threatened with mortal injury or worse, and still doesn't get the idea that perhaps he should forget this woman. But apparently, his life is just so boring that all of this seems like an improvement. But if he had been smarter, we would not have had this story, so I'm glad he was crazy. In the end, he did finally come through with some smart detective work.
