A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail by Bill Bryson

5.0

I've been doing a lot of hiking that crosses or follows the Appalachian Trail, which always makes me daydream about thru-hiking. Those thoughts and the bright green cover (I'm a sucker for my favorite color) made me pick up this book. I'm really glad I did. It's very funny, and it makes me feel much better about my personal abilities as a hiker. I definitely think I'd do a better job than Bryson and Katz, even if I couldn't complete the entire trail.

Highly recommended for those who enjoy hiking and the outdoors... and returning to the comforts of home afterwards!
