Pivot Point by Kasie West

Pleasantly surprised as to how much I enjoyed this book.

Addie's parents are getting divorced and she must choose who she wants to live with - her dad in the NORM world or her mom in the PARANORMAL compound. Addie, with the gift of Clairvoyance, can see into her future and decide which future she likes best. Told in chapters that alternate her vision in the Norm and Paranorm futures, a mystery (two mysteries?) begins to unfold and impacts both of her futures.

I loved Kasie West's writing style. There was something simplistic yet poetic that I do love so much. I thought the plot was unique without the cliches and tropes that have come to overwhelm YA lit. The character development was strong, even with her secondary characters. The mysteries were great and I liked how they intertwined in both of her futures.

The ending was bittersweet, but then I realized that this is a series (yet another trope) but at least I have something to look forward too.
