Threepenny Novel by Bertolt Brecht

4.0

A Dickensian look at crooked businesses in turn of the century London. Terrific language, and considerably bawdier than a Dickens novel. Toward the end, there was a bit of socialist propaganda, but it was subtler than most. The musical, Threepenny Opera, is based on The Beggar's Opera by John Gay. I liked this one.
