How Are You Feeling?: At the Centre of the Inside of the Human Brain's Mind by David Shrigley

2.0

This is another of those projects that walks "the fine line between clever and stupid".

About 80% of it is drivel.

10% of it is actually disturbing and/or upsetting.

But then.... there is the other 10%. The 10% where I completely understand what he's trying to communicate and it's funny and absurd and genius.

Shame it's padded out with so much drivel.

Lovers of Shrigley may moan that I just didn't get it. Maybe that's fair. My thoughts are that if you have to explain the joke... it won't be as funny. Similarly, if the message is so ambiguous that it doesn't speak to me, I'm not going to pretend that I understand it just so I don't look like a philestine!

My two favourites were the "Don't look down" (yup, giant penis) and the note about being a slave to your own nonsense. I like my Shrigley in greeting card format best.
