Never Lie by Freida McFadden

dark mysterious tense fast-paced

4.0

I thought it was so predictable, but then what I expected to happen did not happen at all lmao - I think that was done really well (and on purpose). I started reading the
Tricia chapter that shows the twist and I read smth and it didn't quite register yet, and in the same second I was like wait Tricia? As in short for PATRICIA?
- I just love those moments, it's the main reason for me reading thrillers. It wasn't completely beliveable to me,
idk but Ethan just seemed waaaaay to fishy with his outburts and shit
, but I did still like it, I enjoyed how everything tied together. I love the ending, even though I might find it harder to sleep tonight, for some reason
I enjoyed it more then if they got caught. I feel really bad for Luke though, genuinelly seemed like a great guy, caught in this shit.
It was spooky and unsettling, but it wasn't triggering,
EJ was a little bit, but I was so happy to avoid sexual violence for once
! I read it in 12hrs (and even that because I had an event to get to, otherwise it would've probably been one sitting), which also tells you smth. It had almost everything I want in a thriller. It's not the best thing out there, but I definitely recommend it if you're looking for some mystery and suspense, good read! I am getting a bit annoyed with so many thrillers resting on mental health patients and professionals though, it's not the best for the stigma (not a critique of this book, just in general smth I have noticed).
