Indelible by Karin Slaughter

3.0

As much as I love the Grant Country series. Indelible didn’t grab me the way the previous books did. While Karin Slaughter’s writing is still strong, this one felt slower and less intense compared to the others.

The story dives into Jeffrey and Sara’s past, which was interesting, but the pacing dragged in places, making it harder to stay fully invested. The dual timeline structure had potential, but I found myself wanting more from the present-day storyline. The action picks up eventually, but it took a while to get there.

That being said, the character work is still solid, and Slaughter knows how to weave dark, emotional themes into her thrillers. It just didn’t have the same gripping intensity as the earlier books in the series. Still, if you’re invested in Grant County, it’s worth reading- but definitely not my favorite.
