Monstress, Vol. 7: Devourer by Marjorie M. Liu

This one hurt!! Well, I think they all do at this point.

This volume starts to dive into the idea of facing yourself. Maika and Tuya are forced to face themselves and have complex feelings about what they see staring back. This book also drove home that there are no winners or good guys during a war! Because, boy oh boy, do both sides do things that will haunt a person forever!

I think I would give my whole heart to Kippa if she asked, so I don't really blame Maika for making similar decisions. I love reading about Kippa in these books, and I need her to have a happy ending above anyone else!!
