5.0

Complex, curious, tragic.

We are following three POVs: an extroverted influencer who doesn't want to succumb to #ad, a socially anxious bullied adult who became besties-ish with the influencer in University, and a mysterious stalker with good intentions turned super creepy
🇺🇸 Set in Washington D.C., USA

Growls, Howls, and Tail Wags 🐺🐕:
👌Realistic! I equally felt for and was annoyed with, even frightened, by every character in this novel. It was realistic in that there was a vagueness to each of them. Incel vibes or hopeless romantic? Covert narcissist or lonely extrovert? Socially anxious bullied friend or co-dependant sociopath?

👌 The kind of writing where you forget you're reading a book beacuse it feels like a movie.

👌Predictable to some but still interesting - I was on the fence so it didn't feel too predictable. I think the story has enough substance and depth that if you really know who the stalker is it isn't a deal-breaker unless you REALLY want unpredictable twists.

Mood Reading Match Up:
  • Contemporary fiction about complexities of new adult/early 30s friendships and relationships
  • Stalker and obsession tropes
  • Dynamic mix of relatable and unlikeable characters delivering  cringe for all
  • Influencer life drama
  • Romantic suspense

Content Heads-Up: Stalking. Love-at-first-sight obsession. Sexual harassment. Trauma from being bullied. Social anxiety vibes.

Format: Paperback
