This has been my favorite so far in the series! I love watching how the characters continue to develop and grow now that they are in a better situation, taking on bigger spaces in my heart. It is definitely becoming more of an epic romantasy as it continues, and I have actually enjoyed the sporadic flashbacks to prior kings/queens/gods. It is cool having the information to ourselves, while also watching the characters find out about the information in the next few chapters and seeing how they are going to overcome it.

The romance is continuing to blossom and I do really like Nadir and Lor. Sometimes I find myself doing the thing where I overthink and they don't feel good/real together, but it is only sometimes. But as I am writing this, I am realizing that it mainly happened after he called her lightning bug?!?!?!? Like excuse me??? And I am glad it is not just me who thinks this nickname is super weird. Initially, I was like ohhh, that makes sense, but now I am like eewwww. I saw someone else comment that it is longer than her real name, which really sold how much I hate it. Also, coming back to say that they decided they loved each other WAY too fast. It was like poof - everything changed. It felt a little immature, but it felt weird because I still wanted to root for them?

Speaking of things I hate...Atlas. His poor brother (the true heir!!) being locked in the dungeon with cuffs, but only spoke to protect Gabriel??? And them forshadowing that they would want to be together?? The Aurora king also sucks with his slavery of the low fae, so I am liking that that is also a plot point. Fingers crossed we get more Willow x Amya and Tristan x his girl (apologies, I can't remember her name like always), plus Tristan rising up as the Woodland's heir. I love that eventually when it all works out in the end (because duh, HEA), there will be a Heart queen, Aurora king (or queen if he abdicates to Amya), the true Sun king with his winged consort, the Woodlands king with his bride, etc. I am excited for book 4!!
