HOLY SHIT this book was wild from start to finish. Way darker and more twisty than I expected for some reason, but it landed so well. I was so impressed with how this book created such a love letter to the genre(s) that it embodied — the use of tropes to frame the story while still using them in unexpected ways was so cool, and I loved the references to classics (Clue! Hill House!). All of the characters were fascinating and fucked up in equal measure, but in a way that made you want to know even more about them (I still want more details on some of them). I absolutely tore through this and was left reeling at the end.
Graphic: Death, Gore, Gun violence, Violence, Blood, Vomit, Kidnapping, Murder, Fire/Fire injury
