UGH. That’s how I feel right now. Being someone who has been avidly reading since the day I learned - I am extremely frustrated that it has taken me this long to read anything and everything by Simone St. James. I cancelled my BOTM subscription and then renewed simply so I could get my hands on this book. And I’ll do it over and over for every book this woman writes.

My first SSJ book was The Sundown Motel - a five star read and one of my all time favorite books. I’m not one for paranormal reads but for whatever reason, I love the paranormal aspects of SSJ’s books. Equal parts thriller, equal parts spooky and ALWAYS a heartwarming tale burning in the background.

I want to say I devoured this book in one sitting but that would be a lie. I savored this book as much as I could because I just never wanted it to end. This is another one of those books that you just wish you could reread for the first time.

The characters were perfectly depicted. The plot was captivating. I really enjoyed the modern time feel with talks of true crime, podcasts, etc. The Book of Cold Cases is an amazing thriller, without feeling too heavy. And definitely a book I’ll be talking about for a long time.

I don’t usually put spoilers in my reviews, but I’m contemplating heading over to GR, checking that spoilers box, and ranting and raving about the in’s and out’s of this book. I loved it too much.

SSJ - I love you. I love your books. I love your writing. Please never stop!
