A Certain Age by Beatriz Williams

2.0

Set in the roaring 20s, this is a story of a murder and the people involved in that murder, about 15 years later. There is also a side story of affairs and unwanted marriages. Theresa Marshall, a real beauty, is married and having an affair with "Boyo". Theresa's brother becomes engaged to a young woman, Sophie. Sophie's father, The Patent King, is a cold, reclusive man. Boyo is asked by Theresa to investigate Sophie and her family to be sure there is nothing in their past. As a result, there are many things that come to light. I found the novel to be plodding at times.
