Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Amelia Nagoski, Emily Nagoski

informative medium-paced

4.25

Started reading unsure what to expect and finished with a massive pile of highlighted passages, several of them copied and pinned in a personal notebook full of mental health quotes. Lots of useful practical information here that takes a slightly different perspective than other books I've read on similar topics, although a lot of the writing can meander into tangential storytelling or soapboxing (not that I don't agree with everything being said, just that it isn't really useful advice). Written to be geared toward women, but I'm recommending this to my brother as well; there's plenty of good stuff here that isn't necessarily gendered.

My opinion would be that this is a good book for someone who's in an active state of willingness to really self examine and take immediate proactive/active steps toward fixing burnout, anxiety, and stress. I think if you're not quite in that mindset/need for immediate change, this book doesn't really help get you there.
