All of This Is True by Lygia Day Peñaflor

Wow. This book was way better than originally expected. They style was written as a storytelling between a series of interviews, journal entires and emails and texts submitted to The New York Times, and excerpts from a book this book was surrounded around. It very much reminded me of an elevated version of one of my favorite books from childhood - they TTYL, TTFN, etc. books. Those were all written in emails and in instant messages. As for the plot, it had me on a ride. We got to see different points of view from the three main girls involved as well as the author. I was constantly changing my mind on who I aligned with based on what was happening in the book. The ending was a big shock to me as well. The twist! I also wasn't expecting the outcome of what happened at the very end either. I do wish I could have more of a wrap up on Penny, Soleil, and Miri's friendship. Do they understand why each other felt the way they did about Fatima? Will Penny and Soleil ever finish Fatima's book to find out why Miri felt the way she did? Will they be able to restore their friendship? I read this book in under 24 hours. I could not put it down and the style was captivating and different. It was a really fun read and I encourage anyone who finds it, to pick it up and give it a shot.
