A Love Hate Thing by Whitney D. Grandison

4.0

I loved the ending of this book. I was anxious for a happy ending. The title of the book was very appropriate. The constant whiplash of Nandy and Trice’s relationship was so annoying. Definitely a love hate thing and definitely a teenager thing. Lol. This book went through the stages of grief and survivors guilt. I thought it was interesting to see from Trice’s perspective. I love how their relationship started to blossom and Nandy realized that she hadn’t really been her true self and was able to navigate back to that person. I also seen that other reviewers were annoyed by the stereotypes, but let’s be real… STEREOTYPES are a thing and they AREN’T going away. The book pointed them out and yes some things were predictable due the stereotypes but it also generated a happy ending. It was slow at some points and I’m personally not fond of the back and forth to each character each chapter, but that’s a me thing. It was really good but not super amazing so 4 stars it is.
